Community Sex Education Curriculum Review Period

Beaver Island Community School April 4, 2025

Beaver Island Community School Sex Education Advisory Committee is pleased to announce an upcoming public viewing of our proposed sex education curriculum for the 2025-2026 school year. The public review of the proposed curriculum is an important part of the adoption of this curriculum by the Beaver Island Community School (BICS) Board of Education.

The curriculum (Michigan Model for Health, Puberty, the Wonder Years, and The ABCs) is designed to support students in making informed decisions for their sexual health and relationships, promoting responsible behaviors, and overall well-being. The documents are available for public review in the BIGS office conference room from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm on Monday, April 7 and on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

We encourage everyone to attend and take an active role in understanding and shaping the educational experience. Your feedback and engagement are invaluable to us!
